How we can help

Castle Psychology specialises in helping children, young people and adults to better understand and cope with complicated feelings, improve difficult relationships and learn practical skills to feel more confident and content.

We are passionate about building resilience and wellbeing and firmly believe that each person has the capacity to reach their potential.

We can offer therapeutic support for a wide variety of difficulties including:

  • Anxiety/Panic
  • Low Mood/Depression
  • Adjustment Difficulties
  • Obsessive Compulsive Problems (OCD)
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
  • Specific Phobias
  • Sleeping difficulties in young children
  • Behavioural difficulties
  • TICS/Tourette's
  • Not feeling yourself and struggling to understand why

Guidance and support are also available to parents. When we meet parents and ask them what they want for their children we get variations of the same answer…… I would like my child to be happy. And ultimately this is what we all want for our children but sometimes as parents we can struggle to know how best to support them, particularly when they are finding life tricky. We work with parents to help them to better understand what their child may be experiencing and think about how best to support their child or young person at home.

Therapeutic Interventions

We offer a range of evidence based therapy that will be specifically tailored to the age, level of understanding and particular difficulties of each individual client. As Clinical Psychologists we are trained to use many different psychological models including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT).   We also draw from a number of other models including systemic therapy, attachment theory and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT).
